BROW HOW

How to get the brows you want
alt text

Our obsession with brows peaked somewhere around the early 2010s, and hasn't really waned since. With so many different types of brow products on the market, getting the brows of your dreams has never been easier - or more confusing. Here's what you need to know.

PENCIL

The post popular brow beautifier, pencils help you achieve soft, natural-looking definition. Hold Napoleon Perdis Brow Pencil in Chocoholic as your would a regular pencil and use short, feather-like strokes, sketching the colour in the direction of your hair growth, then use a spoolie brush (or old mascara wand) to comb the colour through.

POWDER

These generally offer a softer finish and can be layered over pencil to help set the pigment. Natio’s Brow Kit is a compact all-in-one palette that lets you fill in sparse patches with different shades for a multi-dimensional finish.

PEN

Liquids generally last longer than powders, so these are a great option for those with oily skin or who long-wear. The super-fine tips on the three prongs on LashFood 24H Tri Feather Brow Pen help achieve a natural, feathered effect that mimics individual brow hairs.

GEL

You get colour, volume and hold with Nude by Nature's Precision Brow Mascara and Napoleon Perdis' Wand-er Brow Brow Gels easy, do-it-in-the-car brow product. Start by backcombing (going in the opposite direction of hair growth) to build fullness, then brush hairs back into place to set.

CONCEALER

To bring extra attention to your brows, take a concealer that's one shade lighter than your skin tone like Velvet Concepts Abracadabra Creme Concealer and put a tiny amount directly under the arch (you can also use a highlighter).
