HAIR: HOW TO

THE LOB

How to style shoulder length hair

A long bob, aka a lob, is one of the most versatile haircuts – here are three ways to style it.

1

LOOSE & WAVY

Prep dry hair with a wave-enhancing mist like Sebastian Re-Shaper, sea salt spray or dry shampoo such as Nioxin 3D Styling Instant Fullness then blast with a hairdryer. Then, using a straightener or curling tongs, take small sections of hair and add a bend or two, starting the bend from the tops of the ears and working down. Once you’ve gone round the whole head, allow hair to cool before running your fingers through the waves to break them up, and finish with a mist of texturizing spray.

2

PONYTAIL

You might have a short ponytail, but it still looks chic. Fashion a clean, centre part, then gather hair into a low pony, and secure. For a softer take, place your fingers near the part at the front of your head, and push up slightly – this will add a little volume at the roots and encourage strands to come loose. Smooth away flyaways around the part and pony with a few drops of Wella System Professional Luxe Oil Reconstructive Elixir. While a spritz of Sebastian Shine Shaker will add a glossy sheen for evening looks.

3

HALF-UP BUN

You could do a classic bun, or you could do this modern version. Fix hair into a half-up style (don't slick hair down; rather, gently rake it back with fingers for a more relaxed result) and then take the upper portion and pin it into a loose bun. This style looks especially good on hair that has loads of texture. Create the texture you need for this undone-done style with Sebastian Thickefy Foam and Sebastian Texture Maker.
