Summer means gloriously luminous limbs, and because you’re clever and know a real tan is never worth it, we’ve compiled three top tips to help you achieve your best faux glow.

PREP LIKE A PRO

A flaky, scaly tan is never a good look, so before you go anywhere near a fake tan mousse, foam or lotion, you’ll need your skin to be smooth and hydrated. The day before you want to fake tan, give your body a once over with a good scrub to buff away any dead skin cells (we like Jbronze Exfoliating Mitt), and finish with a rich moisturizer that will leave skin plump and soft (Blessed by Nature Beauty Elixir Botanical Body Lotion deeply hydrates but won’t leave behind any sticky residue).

GO SLOW

If you’ve got time before a big event, a gradual fake tan builds a subtle, radiant glow and minimizes the chance of streaking, and they moisturise skin at the same time (we love a double-duty beauty product). Kora Gradual Self-Tanning Lotion combines noni extract, plus nourishing rosehip and sea buckthorn oils, to leave skin super soft and delicately scented, while Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturiser features a blend of antioxidants and vitamin E to keep skin healthy.

SHINE BRIGHT

For special occasions, enhance your fake tan with a strategic application of illuminator. Dab Jbronze Shimmer on the high points of the face – cheekbones, bridge of the nose, even the eyelids – for instant luminosity, or try Kora Sun-Kissed Glow Body Oil, which nourishes and leaves skin subtly shimmering and scented, thanks to the added jasmine extract.
