You can be sure your favourite clothes will fit magnificently, whether they are shoes, t-shirts, blazers or jeans. Don’t buy the wrong size; measuring yourself is easy, and will save you the hassle of having to exchange an ill-fitting item.
Finding the right size is easy when you know your exact measurements. Measuring yourself will give you a more accurate view of your size, and will help you ensure that your stylish new clothes fit perfectly. The last thing you want are clothes that are too baggy or too tight. By following measurements, you are guaranteed to look great!
COLLAR: No-one likes being strangled by a shirt collar! Measure around the neck at the base where the shirt fits, leaving enough room to fit a finger, but not too loose that there is a visible gap.
CENTRE BACK LENGTH: This measurement is taken from the centre of the neck at the collar seam to the hem. A shirt should be long enough to tuck into your pants.
CHEST: Measure around the fullest part of your chest and across the shoulder blades. This is an important measurement to take for shirts and jackets.
WAIST: Measure around the natural waistline keeping the tape comfortably loose. This measurement might help you find the right sized trousers and jeans.
SLEEVE: Measuring the legs will save you from having to have your pants taken up. Measure from the top of the inside leg at the crotch to the hem for the inseam measurement. For the outer-seam measurement, measure from your natural waistline to the hem.
INSIDE & OUTSIDE LEG: To determine the rise on a pair of jeans, measure the distance from the crotch following the front seam to the button at the waist. Low-rise is around 23cm, mid-rise is around 25cm and high-rise is around 27cm.
Once you have your measurements, it’s easy to determine your size. Men’s sizes correspond to their measurements in either inches or centimetres. For Alpha sizes, compare your measurements to the clothing size charts below. Get the right size every time with our simple size charts.
We’ve included both the numeric sizes, and Alpha sizes, so you can get the right fit, every time. Don’t risk looking stuffed into a pair of trousers that are too small. Get the perfect size for you by following our simple size chart.
When selecting your size, fit to the widest part of your body and choose the size closest to the widest measurement.
A good pair of jeans, or a classic pair of pants, are the ultimate wardrobe staple. Getting the right size, the first time, will save you from having to exchange them later or having to get them tailored.
It also makes it easier to determine whether you need longer pants or shorter pants. Measuring the inner length of your leg will help you choose between long or short styles.
