CLASSIC MAKEUP LOOKS

Three timeless make-up looks (that aren't going anywhere)

These makeup looks are classic for a reason – they flatter all ages, all faces, and they can be adapted for any occasion.

WINGED EYES

The classic cat eye has been around since Cleopatra was taking milk baths for good reason: its flirty grade of femininity still works. It makes eyes look defined and lashes look longer. A solid-black liquid ink, like Napoleon Perdis Neo Noir Liquid Eyeliner, is the most timeless. Begin with the flick, first. A shape subtle enough for every-day wear starts thick at the corner of the eye and tapers off. Then line along the top lash line, from the inside out, until it joins the flick. Have a makeup remover pen, like Lashfood Instant Eye Make Up Remover, on hand to sharpen any mistakes. The clever pointed formula means you can use it to make a chunky line a little more delicate too. False lashes, applied to the outer edges of the eyes, will maximise the cat-eye shape. Try Glam by Manicare Magnetic Lash Willow.

RED LIPS

The perfect red lip is eternally chic, and easy to do. The modern way to wear a red lip is to keep the edges soft. As with any bold lip colour, preparation is essential. Kora Organics Noni Lip Treatment sloughs off dead skin without irritating. For a brilliantly bright red shade, try the orange-red Napoleon Perdis Devine Goddess Lipstick in Hara. Apply from the bullet first and then rub the lips together to blur the edges, so the effect isn't too perfect. A tiny dot of illuminator, added just at the Cupid’s Bow, will make a modern red lip pop. Try Nude by Nature Touch of Glow Highlight Stick in Bronze.

LUMINOUS SKIN

A complexion that looks lit-from-within is the evergreen makeup look that everyone needs to master. Wear it solo, or pair it with any other makeup, and it still feels fresh. Spending an extra 30 seconds massaging in skincare will boost the circulation in skin, and have it glowing before makeup even begins. Maintain a high level of moisture with a rich balm, like Pixi On The Glow Multi-Use Moisture Stick. It's packed with antioxidants, to protect and repair skin. Apply a radiance-boosting base like Nude by Nature Sheer Glow BB Cream, once skin is properly hydrated. The lightweight formula is silicone-free, so it doesn't feel like it's simply sitting on the skin. For an airbrushed effect, try buffing it on in circular motions as you apply it. Try Natio Foundation Brush.
