Have you signed up yet to Instagram? You may have been meaning to sign up to Instagram for awhile but haven’t gotten around to it.
Instagram is a photography application that you can access on your phone and follow your friends and family to stay up to date. Users pick a photo to share on the app, can change the filter (this is the colouring of the picture), add a caption to the photo and upload it so that their following can view it.
It’s really a creative place to go to and look into different people’s lives! When you upload a picture and add a caption, within that caption you can add a hashtag – from their users can click on the hashtag to see more of it. So if you uploaded a picture of you enjoying a cocktail on the beach on a holiday, you’d add into the caption #beach #holiday #sand and from their readers can click on one of the words to see more sand or holidays or beach.
You can get more followers by doing this as well, as someone could come across your photo from your hashtag. If you’re not open to your pictures being made public you make your profile private!

Here’s the official step by step guide from Instagram:
1. Download the Instagram app for iOS from the App Store, Android from Google Play Store or Windows Phone from the Windows Phone Store.
2. Once the app is installed, tap 
to open it.
3. Tap Sign Up, then enter your email address and tap Next. You can also tap Log in with Facebook to sign up with your Facebook account.
4. If you register with email, create a username and password, fill out your profile info and then tap Done. If you register with Facebook, you’ll be prompted to log into your Facebook account if you’re currently logged out.
