It may feel as though we’ve just rung in the new year, but we’re already excited about what 2017 has in store for us when it comes to homeware trends.
Updating your home with gorgeous, cosy living spaces that you love turns your home into a retreat – which is especially important throughout those colder months when you’re more inclined to want to hunker down at home, or entertain indoors.
Create a stylish space you’re proud of that still reflects the personality of you and your family – without having to be an interior design pro – thanks to these hot homeware trends for 2017.
Metallic Accents
Copper has been a strong addition to many homes over the past year, but 2017 will see metallic accents step up a notch. The key word here is accents: Contrasting with simple whites and natural wood hues will balance it out and prevent your living space from taking on an industrial look.

Rich Colours
Low-key tones have dominated for a while now, but it’s out with the lighter colours and in with deeper, rich colours. Add a deep red, green or blue bedspread for a warm and luxurious bedroom makeover. If you can’t part with your existing duvet, add in accents of rich colour with cushions and a matching floor rug. A fabric covered bedhead with gold or leather accessories throughout the rest of the room will complete the luxe look.

Modern Classic
For some of us, modern simplicity will still reign supreme. But this year we move away from stark whites and chrome and introduce deeper grey and neutral tones, complemented by smooth wood finishes and metallic accents. Soft whites will still feature, but will be off-set with natural features for a less sterile yet still modern look. If your home decor is already quite light and simple, consider adding something like a feature chair or wall-hanging into the mix.

Tropical Oasis
Colder weather getting you down? Create an oasis within your four walls with bright colours, lush foliage and more rustic accents. Even if you don’t consider yourself green-fingered, you can still create a vibrant space using faux plants in stylish planters and hanging pots.

Boho Infusion
Bringing boho into your home doesn’t mean you have to go overboard on vintage. Introduce a bit of the boho vibe through the inclusion of tapestries or wall-hangings, textured pillows and rugs, and some feature furniture pieces made with rattan, leather or more natural fibres. Throw in some comfy cushions to create a casual and relaxed ambiance.

Graphic Impact
Black and white graphics have featured strongly in the last little while, but now we’ll see the introduction of a bit more colour, as well as more textured fabrics to soften the impact. Cushions, floor rugs, bed pillows and throws are the perfect way to bring this trend into your home without feeling like it completely dominates the space, or having to overhaul bigger-ticket items like curtains and furniture.

If you’re renovating, redecorating, or simply want to inject some new energy into a tired looking living space then you can’t ignore this year’s hot homeware trends.
They will make a striking difference yet are super simple to achieve just by including some gorgeous feature pieces! So, is it time for a change? What homeware look is your favourite? If you’ve already come across some great finds for your home, share them below.
