Just because it’s cold, that doesn’t mean you have to stop wearing dresses! I’m a dress kind of a girl, no matter what season it is, and I think that most dresses can be worn across the seasons with just a little change of accessories and styling.

I love this peplum dress – it’s perfect for the office and the bordeaux colour is a great autumn shade. Add a simple blazer to keep the chill off (and to make it more office suitable if your dress code states that your arms must be covered) and stockings. I have been wearing stockings to work for the last month or so and it makes such a difference to how warm I am, and the colder it is, the thicker my stockings! Finish your outfit with some heeled ankle boots (I love these ones!) and a wrap in the place of a scarf, and you’ve got a chic autumn outfit.

This ponti dress by Sara is perfect for autumn – the fabric is warm, the ¾ sleeves provide extra warmth for your arms (my upper arms are always the first to get cold!), and it fits right in with the monochrome trend. Add some stockings and some great boots, grab some gloves (I have these ones and I love them!) and a monochromatic purse, and you’re good to go. Add this season’s must have coat if it’s extra chilly or windy, and you have the perfect outfit for autumn!
Wearing dresses in autumn is simple – add layers that will keep you warm but can be removed if you’re heading indoors or somewhere warm. Stockings are an essential, boots are a stylish way to keep your feet warm (and dry!) and coats are a great way of finishing off an outfit.
