Skinny jeans and close fitting knee high boots are the perfect combination – they help to elongate your legs and can make a pair of jeans look much more chic. Choose boots in a neutral shade like black and they will work with skinny jeans of all colours (and even patterned ones if you’re that way inclined!)

Make your look a little more polished by adding some ankle boots with a little detail that sits lower down, so it will still be visible under the cuffs of your jeans. I recommend ankle boots for bootleg or flared jeans, because you don’t have to make the decision whether to have the bottom of your jeans sitting under or over your boots. Pair with a crisp white shirt and you have a simple chic outfit for Sunday brunch.

If you’re wearing a dress that sits on or above the knee, choose a pair of well fitting boots that finish just under the knee. I like these riding boots because the whole back portion of them is elasticated – no struggling with zips or laces, just pull them on and let them mould to your legs!

This is my go-to style of boot. I only ever wear flats (maybe the slightest of heels), and I love a lower ankle boot because it’s so versatile. You can wear this with jeans, trousers, long skirts, shorter skirts, shorts… For autumn I’d wear these ones from Sara with a knee length skirt and some opaque stockings.

I’m in love with jeggings at the moment – I’m yet to buy my first pair, but I’m eyeing up these ones from EziBuy. I am so thrilled with the idea of something that looks like a slim fit pair of jeans but with all of the comfort of a pair of leggings, and I think they would look great with riding boots!
