Polka dots are one of my favourite patterns to wear, second only to stripes – they’re simple, a great way to start experimenting with prints, and proving very popular this spring!
For me, there is something about a polka dot dress that is just perfect for spring and summer – I think this knee length jersey dress will look great paired with a bright belt to break up the intensity of the polka dots. Full on spots not your thing? Go for a dress with a patterned bodice and a solid-coloured skirt.
Even within the realm of polka dots there are a lot of different kinds of spots – big, small, organised into patterns or a bit more abstract.
I’m a big fan of cropped pants this spring, and think that navy trousers with white spots would be perfect paired with a white top! I’m also loving the length of this skirt – just below the knee, it’s a nod to the styles of the 1940’s – elegant, feminine and flattering.
Change things up and go for black spots on a white or cream fabric to brighten up your look. Pair this shirt with a pencil skirt for the perfect office attire. My favourite polka dot piece by far this season is this cardi – it’s one of my most worn pieces! See how I’ve styled it here.
