Easter… it’s a week away! Do you have plans for the holiday season?
Unlike the northern hemisphere who celebrates Easter with the coming of spring, we in the southern hemisphere mark the occasion with the harvesting of crops. This can be a great theme for dinner parties and social get togethers over the Easter weekend, commemorating our appreciation for the abundance of food we are so lucky to grow and have access to and the family and friends we can share it with.
EASTER WEEKEND IDEA: Host a Dinner Party
Host a dinner party with a “Harvest theme” by using locally sourced ingredients and recipes and by decorating your table and home with autumnal tones and rustic inspired accents.
We’ve hit up our friends at Bite Magazine for some tasty recipes and will be whipping up this delicious Roasted Feijoa and Chicken Salad, followed by this comforting Feijoa and Apple Crumble that can be found here. And while we’re clearly excited about feijoa season here in New Zealand… you may not be lucky enough to get these tasty treats!
Don’t worry, our friends at Woman’s Day have an incredible Savory Gruyere-Apple Tarts recipe that can be found here…ah, yes please! Not to mention this incredible Slow Cooker Apple Cider from our always stylish friends at Country Living.
With so many fresh new fruits and vegetables on offer there’s plenty to celebrate at this time of year.
EASTER IDEA: Give your Home a Tidy Up
Drawing inspiration from the décor scheme below, we’ll be introducing refreshing planters (and rustic inspired baskets!) to create a cohesive theme throughout our home that can be utilised long after Easter is over.
