As winter approaches and we are all tempted to dress in nothing but black, I thought it might be nice to spice up my look with a touch of gold. Gold can be intimidating to wear and I can’t say I can see myself wearing an entirely gold outfit, but gold accessories are beautiful.
Beyond just jewellery, I like how we’re seeing more gold in bags this season. In my last post you might have spotted I was carrying the Ezibuy Shopper Bag in Gold. This is an awesomely roomy tote bag that has more than enough space to fit everything I need on a daily basis. It also comes with a detachable coin purse that’s great for storing smaller items without losing them in your big bag!
Another hot pick if you want something smaller is the Ezibuy Textured Crossbody Bag in Gold. A smaller bag is great when you only want to take your keys, wallet and phone, like maybe for a night out with the girls. Personally, I hate clutches because they mean one of my hands is always occupied with holding it. That’s what makes a crossbody such a saviour!
Taking inspiration from these gold bags, I’ve spiced up my regular winged eyeliner look with a touch of gold. This doesn’t have to be done with a winged eyeliner, of course, but I think it really suits the vintage vibe. I simply drew along my upper eyelid with black eyeliner, and winged it out slightly at the outer corner. I then used this black line as a guide and went over it with a golden liquid liner. This look doesn’t need any eyeshadow with it at all – just throw on some mascara and you’re good to go!
You could stop the eyeliner at the outer corner of the eye for something for subtle. I know some people find liquid eyeliner a struggle, though, so if you want an easier take, try working with gold eyeshadow. If you pick up some gold eyeshadow on a small, damp brush, you’ll be able to use it as eyeliner, but it will be a bit more forgiving. And with eyeshadow, you can always blend out the edges.
Alternatively, I think this look would be neat with some gold eyeshadow smudged along the lower lashline. Anything to brighten up a dull, dark look!
