Who doesn’t love a floral print? But do you find them harder to wear in winter? Sometimes the pretty, light colours don’t work so well with black tights, or a heavy black coat. Enter Dark Florals.
A dark floral will usually have a black base to the print, and will have deeper, more intense colours in the print, like so…
Like I mentioned before, these darker florals will work better with all the black we seem to wear in Winter. The deeper colours in the print are strong enough to stand up next to black, and they won’t appear washed out as some lighter, more Spring-time floral colours can.

Use the print to match the colour
The good thing with the dark florals is that you don’t always HAVE to wear it with black. They key to choosing another colour to wear with a print, is to use the PRINT to tell you which colours will work with it! Look for one of the more subtle colours in the print and match it with a top (or bottom, or scarf, or shoe) in that colour, like so…
