Silk is one of those beautiful fabrics that everyone should have in their wardrobe. It’s timeless, easy to wear (being a natural fiber and all) and will last for a long time if you look after it properly.
Over the next couple of weeks, I’ll be sharing some of the gorgeous pieces that Grace Hill has in their collection – I have to admit, I’m loving the quality and cut of all the amazing silks from Grace Hill, this brand is definitely an asset to the EziBuy range!
Here is the first piece, the Grace Hill silk slip dress (BUY IT HERE)
Why it works: this simple, yet sophisticated shape is going to work on most body shapes.
As a Pear, the cut-away sleeve draws the eye up and out, away from your hips, and the sightly longer hem at the back makes your legs appear longer at the front.
As a Column, this dress is made for you! You don’t have much of a waist to define, so you’re not losing any shape, plus it shows off your gorgeous shoulders and arms perfectly!
If you’re an Hourglass (like me) you can either belt it, to define your waist, or wear it straight -it has enough shape to still show off your curves, and the small cut-out creates the V you want to help minimise your bust.
And for you gorgeous Apples, there is no waist seam on the dress, so no cutting across the tummy. Use a long necklace to create a more dominant vertical line down your body to minimise your broad bust and shoulders (which those gorgeous sleeves will do)
Bonus stylist tip: I wear this dress with a racerback bra I also picked up from EziBuy (but you could also wear it with a normal bra and just pull the straps under the dress a little)
Here’s me wearing it with some orange wedges, but it would also look great with metallic sandals, or even belted around the waist with flats (to dress it down). I’m normally a size 12, but I ordered the size 10 as I like loose-fitting dresses to be a little more neat, so you could order down a size.
It’s definitely one of the most comfortable summer dresses I own – so lovely to wear on these hot days! (I’ve just got nude underwear on underneath, but the silk isn’t too sheer at all either). This is a great summer print, but any of the three will be a welcome addition to your wardrobe.
Until next time,
Happy Shopping
