Ahhhhhh Smart/Casual. It’s one of those ‘illusive looks’ that we all want to do well, but most of us struggle with getting it right! As a Style Coach, it’s one of the questions I get asked the most! “How do I do Smart/Casual!”
Well my friends, I’m going to let you in on one of my biggest secrets, and it’s really that simple…….

Look Number One: Blazer + Jeans + Heels
Love wearing you jeans (The “CASUAL” option) but always wear them with flat shoes and a tee? Why not lift the look by adding a sharp blazer and a classic pair of heels (the “SMART” options)! You are still in your denim comfort level, you’ve just chosen to wear it differently!
If the heels are too much, even a pair of jeans with a blazer and ballet flats (or trainers for that matter) will still be more of a smart/casual look – go on, give it a go!
Look Number Two: Dress + Denim + Trainers
One of my personal favourite ways to get the smart/casual look is by ‘dressing down’ a fun dress! This cane be done all year round, but today we’ll focus on how to do it for Autumn. In this outfit, think of the dress as the SMART and all the other things you are using to dress it down as CASUAL, like so…..

Look Number Three: Printed Pants + Knit + Ballet Flats
If denim isn’t your thing, or it’s still a little more on the ‘casual’ side for you, then this is you look! Printed pants are not only totally on trend right now, they are ridiculously comfortable to wear! Pair them will a cute little flat shoe and a warm, yet sophisticated knit and you have a classy, sophisticated smart/casual option.
