What is Ponti and how to wear it

Ponti (or ponte). It’s one of those words that you’ve started to see around right?

But not sure what exactly it is? Well that’s why I’m here! Ponti (pronounced pon-tee) is the name of a fabric. A thick, double-knit fabric with two-way stretch. Two way stretch is important because it moulds to your body-shape and holds you in at the same time – genius.

Ponti is a fabric you may have seen over the last few years in pants (kinda like leggings, but kinda not) but you will be seeing a LOT more of it this winter. It’s popping up all over the place in dresses, jackets and skirts.

It’s the fabric that makes it great.

As I mentioned previously, the magic of Ponti is the two-way stretch. It drapes when it needs to drape (because it’s quite a thick, winter-weight fabric) but it also has structure so it holds you in when you need to be held in. PLUS it’s machine washable and doesn’t need ironing! (sign me up to a wardrobe full of Ponti on that point alone).

Style to look for.

Ponti in any style is great, but here are few of my latest finds from EziBuy that will get you right on the Ponti wagon (as if the “machine washable” and “non-ironing” didn’t already)

The dress

A Ponti dress is going to fall off your body beautifully. The fabric will skim the bits we don’t want on show (tummy, thighs), but give structure and support to our good bits (bust, waist, legs). Block panelling like in the two dresses on the right add a slimming silhouette to an already-slimming fabric. You can’t loose!

The Pant

Everyone, I said EVERYONE should have at least one pair of Ponti pants in their wardrobe this winter. They are thicker than a tight, therefore allowing you to wear tops that are slightly short than you would dare with a normal tight.

If you are a little hippy, wear Ponte pants with an oversized top or tunic that covers your problem areas, as pitcured….. or if you are little more game, a long- fitted shirt, is the way to go.

Separates

Skirt, or top – which ever you like (you could even do both!) These separates should be a staple in every woman’s wardrobe. Here are three of my picks.

So have I convinced you yet? I hope so! If you still aren’t sure, why not just give it a go! It’s so easy to order online with EziBuy and I’ve even given you pieces to try. Let me know how you go, I’d love to hear about it in the comments below

Until next time
