“Is it ok to match your shoes with your bag?” This is a question I get all the time by my personal styling clients and the answer is ABSOLUTELY YES!
But it’s ok if you don’t too…..
Nowadays, (to quote a famous line from Grease) the rules are “there are no rules”. Sure there are still trends that come and go, but fashion has relaxed a lot more in the recent years. It’s more focused on wearing what suits your body shape and own individual style, rather than following a set of rules.
But let’s get back on track – you can definitely still match your accessories – in fact, I think it’s a great way to make your outfit look more polished and put together. But it doesn’t just have to be BAG + SHOES, it could be SHOES + NECKLACE, or HAT + BAG…. there are so many awesome combos that you could work together.
Not sure how to do it in a way that’s modern and stylish (rather than feeling like you stepped straight out of the 1950’s)? Here are a few options from EziBuy that might give you some ideas.
Black and white is a great way to get your accessories matching, without making it to too obvious! You can go ALL monochrome, like the outfit above, or you could use black and white accessories to add some interest to a red dress for instance.

Using pops of colour in your accessories is a great way to brighten your look. I love using red with neutral colours – it really stands out against the blacks and greys and denim. I call this “Top and Tailing” in the styling world. It’s about giving your outfit two pops of colour that tie the whole thing together. It could also be shoes and a necklace or scarf, or belt and bag, any two things in the same colour will work.
Now remember we said at the start of this blog that you DON’T always have to match your shoes and bag – you might have found a gorgeous statement shoe but you don’t want to feel all matchy-matchy, why not add a pop of colour in your bag to off-set the shoe? Like so…..

So now you see, you can either match your shoes to your bag, or not – what ever takes your fancy. I like adding colour with my “top and tailing” to a plain outfit, but sometimes I like to mix it up with different colours! The choice is yours, as long as you think you look awesome, that’s really what counts in the end anyway right?
Until Next Time,
