Monochrome Hit List

Now I know what you’re thinking. *yawn* Nina, some more monochrome… Hear me out. New Look has dropped both in stores and online and I could not help but pick up a pair of my number one wardrobe workhorse – a great pair of black trousers. If you follow me over on my blog New Shoes in Town, you would know that I’m currently in the process of putting together a capsule wardrobe. In short, a capsule wardrobe is a collection of clothes considered essential. For me, black and white (okay, including grey) make the best foundation pieces for any wardrobe, regardless of different lifestyles and personal style.

1 – New Look Burnout Paisley Floral Top

 Wear to: Work, Weekend, Party

Sweeten your look with this lightweight semi sheer blouse with elbow length sleeves. Pair this with cigarette pants for work, your favourite jeans for the weekend or leather look shorts for a night out.

2 – New Look Contrast Collar & Hem Top

 Wear to: Work

I love the contrasting collar and hem on this preppy top. This would look great with a pencil skirt like this textured one also from New Look.

3 – New Look Laser Cut Boxy Tee

Wear to: Work, Weekend, Party

This versatile relaxed tee can be dressed up for both day and night with this cropped jacket.

4 – New Look High Rise PU Shorts

 Wear to: Party, Weekend

These shorts come will come in handy for both weekend and party outfits. Add tights and a nice bright sweater, like this coral one from Next and you’re all set for the colder weather!

5 – New Look Scarlett Crepe Trousers

 Wear to: Work, Weekend

These are great reliable work pants that make getting dressed in the morning very easy. I picked this one up recently and have been wearing it pretty much non stop, paired with my chambray shirt from Capture. This would also go nicely with the Emerge Woman The Key Shirt which comes in chic prints and colours.

6 – New Look Rochelle Shorts & Belt

 Wear to: Party, Weekend

The Rochelle shorts comes with a skinny belt and would suit a tucked in blouse like this Watercolour Floral printed silk one from Emerge or this Capture Poplin Shirt in blue stripe.
