As spring has blissfully landed in our laps, it has brought the warmer weather, the long overdue beach visits, and of course, the wedding season!
The dreamy celebrations at a wedding, the cake cutting, the fresh flowers, the bubbles and dancing is the perfect way to spend a day with family and friends but the choice of attire seems to instigate concern and irritation for many of us, especially if there’s a budget. Dress codes can come with many stipulations – we can’t be too revealing, we can’t go too short, and never, ever turn up in white (or ivory, cream, bone, champagne, beige, eggshell and vanilla).
Luckily for you, I’ve put together three outfits all for under $200! I have incorporated a ‘staple piece’ with every outfit so as well as dazzling on the dance floor with the other guests, you’ll also have invested in a piece of clothing that can be used again and again in many different ways.
Berry Wedding Outfit
This collection is edgy, memorable and will suit ladies of all shapes and sizes! I’ve kept the skirt as the statement item by adding plain complimentary colors, not to overbear the beautiful fine print. I was conscious to use luxurious materials with all the items to illustrate a luminous, expensive appearance.
To add a little extra burst of color, go for the Next Foldover Clutch Bag in Pink and add a simple ‘cats eye’ eyeliner look and a touch of pink lippy!
Staple Piece: The shoes! As soon as I caught my eyes on these shoes I knew my wardrobe needed them. The shape will immediately excite any outfit. Try adding with your ordinary work attire, or a leather look dress to really spice things up! I’ve matched mine with a light washed denim skinny jean and a monochrome striped top.
Little Black Dress Wedding Outfit
You can never go wrong with a Little Black Dress.
I am in love with this Grace Hill Cap Sleeve Dress! It’s the finest blend of elegance and eccentricity. With such a distinct dress, you need distinct shoes so I picked the Capture Chloe Sandal Heel to balance the femininity and quirkiness – who ever said a black dress was boring?! The relationship between the heels and the dress form a very effortless ‘on trend’ compilation. And finally, the earrings bring a conventional twinkle to the table, not too boisterous to let the other pieces do the talking!
Find your Staple Piece: It has to be the dress. You basically can’t get more multifunctional than this piece of clothing. You can add a sparkling statement necklace and nude court shoes and you’re dressed for dinner. Or try out a monochrome jacket and T-Bar shoes and you’re ready for a day in the office. Get a pair of lace-up flats and a vibrant scarf and spend the day shopping… Many options!
The piece will have a very long life span in your wardrobe!
Flower Wedding Outfit
This outfit is the epitome of an outdoor garden wedding!
You can’t get any more ‘summertime romance’ than this! The delightful floral motif that is extended over the chiffon material will hide any lumps and bumps, and glide over any sins from the winter season! The shape and length will suit ladies of all ages and the chic bow waist detail adds a Parisian touch. I required the shoes to be subtle so not to take away any of the attention from the dress and I initially wanted the jewelry to be the same until I spotted the Next Gold Tone Statement Drop Earrings! The earrings were made for this dress!
Add a Staple Piece: The gentle statement earrings. Dress up any outfit with splash of color and sparkle. The size is spot on to wear from day to night to allow you to add some zest to a work outfit and move on the dance floor in the evening! Try a combination such as the Emerge Crochet Trim Top with the Next Velvet Skirt to create a fresh graceful look.
So what do you think of my wedding outfit choices? Hopefully something in there has inspired you this season! Let us know in the comments below how you get on.
