Autumn 2014 Shoes

The changing weather calls for a seasonal wardrobe update and shoes are no exception. From errand running sneakers, to flats perfect for weekend lounging, to Chelsea boots for when the temperature drops. Read on to see five must have pairs and make sure to read until the end to see this season’s stand-out style.

Must Haves

1 – Sneakers are at the core of comfortable footwear and will forever be on the top of my shoe must haves. For something chic and easy to chuck on, the red Classic Lace-ups from Next can take you from long city walks, to running errands or maybe walking your pooch! Plus, red is a great pop of colour for a casual jeans and striped tee combo.

2 – For lovers of all black everything outfits (I’m looking at you Wellington!), add a bit of interest with textured flats like the Alicia Slipper in Leopard. These are the perfect addition to workwear staples such as black cigarette pants, for example Next black tapered trousers.

3 / 5 -The Sara heeled ankle boots, available in Black and Latte, go with your favourite pair of jeans. Check out this really helpful post on finding the perfect jeans here. The low wooden heeled Chelsea style is an absolute classic that will take you through winter. Boots are also fantastic paired with soft floral pieces like this Emerge cap sleeved floral dress, should you be so lucky weather wise and get one last hurrah to bare legs in a dress.

4 – You really can’t go wrong with a pair of ballet flats, especially in Black. Try them out with the skirt length of season – the midi, like this dusty pink one from Emerge.

Now for the season’s stand-out.

Cut Out

Can we please take a moment for these gorgeous Grace Hill Cutout Suede Heels? Finding the right work heels that ticks all the right boxes can be a bit of a pain but these are super versatile and can take you from office to evening. The asymmetric style makes it modern while the pointed toe makes it more professional than a round or almond toe would.
